  • GlobeMed- GlobeMed is a student-led organization that partners students with grassroots non-profit organizations across the world to improve the life outcomes of underserved populations. Our chapter at UC is partnered withSocial Action for Children and Women (SAW), which provides community administered health education, shelter, and schooling to Burmese refugees.

  • Why I joined GlobeMed and what I do: I joined GlobeMed for the opportunity to expand my horizons, get involved in local volunteer opportunities, and educate myself and my community on public health issues. One of GlobeMed’s main missions is that healthcare should be a right and not a privilege, and this really resonated with me and kept me going back to meetings. Now I am onGlobeMed’s executive board serving as the External Co-Chair, and my job is to educate the local community on issues surrounding public health.

  • What I learned from UHP Roundtable: This experience has helped me brainstorm a lot of ideas that I have been able to take back to my leadership roles around campus. My peers have given me great ideas on how to strengthen morale, motivation, and engagement. I have also learned a lot about effective leadership from my amazing peers.
