I am a sophomore in Aerospace Engineering primarily involved in the Christians Students at UC club.
Christian Students at UC:
This organization is dedicated to helping students find harmony between their Christian life, studies and professional endeavors.
Why I joined the organization:
I was brought up Christian and was wondering how I would find a way continue that here at UC. I discovered this club through a friend and have become very connected to the people in it. We discuss our principles and beliefs and how they relate to our everyday lives. We delve into the bible and what it means to us as Christians today. In this time of global panic, the club serves as a support system for many of us.
What I learned from the UHP Student Leader Roundtable:
Maintaining connections with people during a time of social distancing is definitely difficult. Throughout my discussions with the UHP Student Leader Roundtable, I gained insight into many facets of running organizations. We discussed engagement, morale, motivation, fundraising, recruiting and leadership transitions, with a focus on the environment we find ourselves in now. Staying positive is something I found a lot of us are struggling with and being able to share those issues with other likeminded students really helped brought a new sense of community. Although the pandemic has prevented us from meeting physically, in many ways it has brought us together. The new challenges clubs face brought to light many old challenges. Having the UHP Student Leader Roundtable gave us all the resource we needed to communicate with other club leaders to solve these issues. We discovered many clubs had solved problems others were still struggling with and we brainstormed together to solve other common issues. I wish we had something like this every semester.
