Society of Professional Hispanic Engineering: We are a network focus organization. We are an organization dedicated to help Hispanic students persuading STEM majors. By providing network material, tutors, and a little familia to share and learn from experienced members. We host volunteer events to give back to our community.
I joined this organization because during my freshman year I found it as my famlia. I have learned to grow and be part of a motivational and better environment. I have joined to grow my professionalism and give back to my Hispanic community. I was the secretary of the organization. In my position, I have been part of different networking experiences. I have helped with volunteer events. I coordinated part of the incorporation new members throughout the semester.
The UHP Leadership Roundtable helped me to my performance as a leader. The difficulties during the transition to online meeting, being as a leader has changed. During this fall semester, I have learned to find a new way to interact in the meetings, tool for improving participation of members, different club’s opinion, motivation. I have participated in debated for handling stress from schoolwork and leadership role as well. I felt that during the meeting we help each other to keep in my how important we are. I learned new tool to host better content and reminders to keep active the participation. I have enjoyed being part of this learning process.
