This semester has been an interesting one to lead a student organization for the first time. COVID-19 has brought many new challenges to the dance world. Our mission is to combine dance and service as we offer the community free dance education they may not otherwise have access to. Being a part of the student leadership round table this semester has helped me face up to these new challenges as I didn't feel so alone in these efforts. All the frustration about new member recruitment, meeting attendance, or asking tough questions about what our organization can do to combat relevant issues our society is facing - I had other student leaders around me (virtually) from who I could draw inspiration and advice from. This experience has truly helped me to grow as a leader in a difficult time and I have greatly enjoyed learning and leaning on each other this semester.
